Tellaro is located on a rock sloping to the sea. The town, with houses close together and separated by small steep streets and totuose ends, in its extremity, with the old parish church of St. George from the second half of the sixteenth century. The church dominates the square surrounded by houses painted in pastel, while towards the sea opens a port for the fishing boats, protected by a reef breakwater.
The extraordinary beauty of the place could not attract people and famous artists. It is here that Attilio Bertolucci , one of the greatest contemporary Italian poets, was to seek peace. DH Lawrence stayed in Fiascherino for about ten months between 1913 and '14. The village on the rocks overlooking the sea was the place of the by Mario Soldati : " Walk through these narrow streets that emerge in the sea and then sit in a corner between the stones of the shore "- recommended.
